We're glad you're traveling in Wisconsin and hope you enjoy the state's many scenic attractions.
As you approach some of the larger construction zones, you may find electronic message boards and 24-hour highway advisory radio broadcasts to help you through them or to offer a convenient alternate route.
And remember, you are only a phone call away from a road condition report at 1-800-ROAD WIS (762-3947). In Madison, the number is (608) 246-7580. For road conditions in the Milwaukee area, travelers can call (414) 548-5684.
Wisconsin State Patrol Troopers, rated one of the friendliest in
the Midwest according to Midwest Living magazine, are
also on hand near the most congested areas to provide advance notice
of delays and to enforce lower speed limits in construction zones.
In Wisconsin, traffic fines are double in
work zones, so please slow down and give our construction crews a
"BRAKE."
Take a scenic alternate route. The Division of Tourism's Wisconsin Auto Tours book can help. It's available by callng 1-800-432-TRIP.
Wisconsin has a tough drunk driving law. If you are arrested for drunk driving, you will lose your license on the spot.
Buckle up for safety.
